We had our regular Ravensbury Residents Meeting last night, attended by about 50 people. Regeneration was the topic of the evening due to the poor consultation that had been in evidence since Circle Housing began their meeting with residents last year (2013).
The overall mood of the meeting was that of anger towards Circle Housing regarding their methods of consultation, that they say are lacking proper involvement by the residents of Ravensbury. They said that they do not feel empowered by the methods chosen by Circle, and that in fact they feel that Circle are doing their best not to allow locals to direct the designs proposed.
Circle Housing’s director for regeneration is a man by the name of Paul Quinn, who attended last night to answer the questions of the residents. Alongside him was Philip Jones, the only Ravensbury ward councillor available for the evening.
Unfortunately, Stephen Alambritis couldn’t attend and hadn’t forwarded a copy of his Ten Commitments to his fellow councillor so that we could discuss them.
More to follow.
