Ravensbury proposals by Circle: Regen phase 1

Circle have submitted planning permission for Ravensbury Grove

Despite an incredibly high percentage of Ravensbury Residents being against building on the local green space at the southern end of Ravensbury Grove, Circle’s regen team have applied for planning permission on both the green space and the derelict garages site.

This is termed as regen phase 1 according to Circle’s regen team:

Circle intend to build blocks of flats in front of Ravensbury Park on the green space in addition to homes on the derelict garages site.

Essentially, this application does appear to be subverting the proper process of the Regen Consultation and the development of the Ravensbury Local Plan that Merton Council have attempted to bring to fruition this year. More on that in the coming months possibly?

Be sure to present your thoughts and opinions to Merton Council as you will have a limited time to respond.

  1. Chris, Circle are building on the garage site which will extend to line up with the end of the houses. The small block of flats will be demolished and rebuilt in line with the houses. This will leave open space at the end of Ravensbury Grove. There is a suggestion they will build a new bridge into the park so you can walk straight into the park from the Grove.
