Remember, we have our fortnightly residents meeting now held at the reception room in the Surrey Arms on Wednesday at 7pm!
This will continue until Circle Housing get the floor repaired in the meeting hall. As you can imagine, we are pressing for this to be done as soon as possible!
On Thursday 4th December 2014, all Ravensbury Residents are invited to a meeting with Siobhain McDonagh MP:
“I can confirm that the meeting will be going ahead, it will start at 7:30pm and is at St George’s Church on Central Road. I have confirmed with Paul Quinn Director of Regeneration that transport will be provided, he has informed me that the plan is to have two minibuses, which can make multiple journeys, picking residents up at the green by Hengelo Gardens and the Community Centre on Ravensbury Grove from 7:00pm.”
So please make a note in your diary.
We had asked for a joint meeting with Eastfields and Highpath RAs in attendance, but it seems they weren’t really interested in that for a variety of reasons!
We also hope you all responded to the Merton Council Consultation as it could guide future development and the planning permissions.
Don’t forget that today, Sunday 23rd November 2014, is the last day for responding to the Merton Council consultation – see here
You can reply to their consultation online, or you can even simply email them:Â estatesplan@merton.gov.uk
This is a consultation to form future planning guidance but many people are using it to air their grievances over the way Circle Housing Merton Priory Homes are running their own biased consultation that seems to have pushed demolition and redevelopment from the outset.
All we can say is: Make your voice heard!

Ravensbury Grove with 4 & 5 storey blocks of flats at the entrance
Here is an image of the proposals by Circle Housing Merton Priory Homes with the proposed 4 & 5 storey flats at the entrance. Recently a letter sent by their regen dept suggested that they weren’t really building any flats at all, so we thought it best to see it for ourselves…
… and in case you missed it, here’s the rear of Ravensbury Court with its widened road, cars parked besides the 2m strip of patio garden & balconies over the bedroom windows – looks like all the grass will be replaced by tarmac …
